Officially the ‘Kiwifruit Capital of the World’, Te Puke is a thriving rural town with a population of around 7,500 people, and a strong heritage in agriculture.
There are many exciting things to explore in the area with nearby attractions including Mount Maunganui, Papamoa Beach, Redwoods Forest bike tracks, Te Puke Golf Club, and Bayfair shopping mall. The commute to Tauranga CBD takes 25 minutes and a trip to Rotorua takes less than an hour (times may vary depending on traffic).

The quirky ‘Looking Glass Garden’ is a hidden wonder that fascinates children and adults alike. For those seeking social activities, there are local clubs for bowls, tennis, golf, boxing, and more. Adrenaline junkies can head to the local skatepark, or to Redwoods Forest in Rotorua to test out the world-class bike tracks. There’s also 260km of pristine beaches and coastline to choose from including Papamoa, Mount Maunganui, Pukehina, and Maketu.

Foodies will be delighted at the selection of eating options in Te Puke, including award-winning cafe, ‘The Daily’. Other relaxed options include a number of takeaways, cafes, and Anann Pineapple Pub which serves craft beer and pizza. Just down the road, Papamoa hosts some of Tauranga’s top pubs and restaurants including the Excelsa Centre, and the East Quarter which is under development. Papamoa is famous for its white sandy beaches – perfect for swimming, surfing, and fishing. It also has great shopping and a range of bars, cafes, and restaurants. The Papamoa Plaza and Fashion Island shopping hub is just 2 minutes from the beach. Papamoa Hills offers a popular walking track.
2. Mount Maunganui

7. Te Puke Golf Club

8. Baywave

Baywave is one of the Bay of Plenty’s top attractions with New Zealand’s largest wave pool, a range of swimming programmes, a hydro-slide, gym, and a different pool to suit everyone. It’s a great place to take the kids.
9. Okere Falls Store and White-Water Rafting
